During a recent hearing on ODOT, a citizen made the claim that buses do as much damage as 1,200 cars. We looked into it and found that it seems to be true — road pavement damage increases exponentially with vehicle weight. Just doubling a vehicle's weight makes it cause about 16 times more damage.
