Aug. 14 on The Story: While Portlanders have gotten a couple chances to preview the Portland International Airport's completely revamped main terminal in recent weeks, Wednesday marked the first day of normal operations — welcoming travelers and visitors alike to marvel at the elegant mass timber roof, indoor trees and gardens, local shops and restaurants, and expansive areas for check-in and security. It was a celebratory atmosphere, complete with live music and llama greeters.
