July 8 on The Story: In May, a KGW investigation exposed how a fitness coach at an Orangetheory franchise in Portland collected charity class donations through his personal Venmo account. At least 12 nonprofits that were supposed to receive those donations — plus matching corporate contributions promised by coach Ryan Tong — told KGW that they never received a dime. Now, the company that owns Tong's location says that it's fired the coach and will try to do right by over a dozen different organizations that were supposed to benefit from charity classes.
