Description
June 14 on The Story: For months we've been hearing and reporting on the issues Oregonians have had in receiving paid leave and unemployment benefits through the Oregon Employment Department. People report that phone lines are jammed — that they have waited on hold for hours, sometimes all day, and still not gotten through to anyone in order to resolve the issues with their claim. And it's clear that lawmakers have been hearing from their constituents about it, too. Late last month, multiple legislative committees had OED officials come in and explain what's going on, and in some cases the frustration was palpable.
