Description
June 11 on The Story: For over 100 years, the Keller Auditorium in downtown Portland has been the crown jewel of playhouses for the metro area. But the building is old, and it's not built to withstand a seismic event. One way or another that has to change — the show can't go on in the Keller as it is now. But the question is, should it be renovated and retrofitted, or should the city be focusing on a brand new building? Right now, there are three proposals — the major retrofit, a new playhouse at the Lloyd Center, or one on the Portland State University campus. Each one has its pluses and minuses, its supporters and detractors. Tonight, we'll walk you through each.
