Description
May 8 on The Story: U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer is set to retire at long last, putting Oregon's solidly blue 3rd Congressional District is up for grabs — and with just two weeks to go before the primary, things are heating up between the Democratic contenders. Most recently, candidates Susheela Jayapal and Eddy Morales joined forces to accuse another frontrunner, Maxine Dexter, of benefiting from "dark money" pumped into the race by shadowy donors. While that's not something Dexter can control, Jayapal and Morales' suspicions may not be entirely off-base. Recent reporting from The Intercept suggests that a powerful pro-Israel lobbying group has taken an interest in the race, and they have a clear preference among the three progressive candidates.
