Description
March 29 on The Story: Since at least last fall, the Oregon Department of Transportation has been out of funding for its graffiti removal efforts along Portland-area highways, and things have gotten worse pretty rapidly. But this month, ODOT got a shot in the arm: At Gov. Tina Kotek's request, the legislature approved $20 million for the agency to clean up highways. Of that total, $4 million is specifically for graffiti. During his recent interview, Pat Dooris asked ODOT Director Kris Strickler about graffiti removal efforts and what the agency is doing to catch up. We'll also take a look at the prevention side of the equation, which is not something ODOT has much authority to do.
