March 13 on The Story: You may recall our story in February about Casey Jewell, a woman renting a mobile home in the Vancouver area that was quite literally deteriorating around her. The unit's heater was broken, there was no running water, the toilet had stopped working and rain dripped into the kitchen through a hole in the ceiling. All of her complaints to her landlord had essentially gone unanswered. And after falling behind on her rent during the pandemic, Jewell had no legal power to press the issue — despite being on a payment plan. But thanks to the outcry from our viewers and others, things are looking up for Casey Jewell.
