Description
Oct. 30 on The Story: To kick off the festive season, Portland just celebrated a new unofficial holiday: Press Conference Day. Gov. Tina Kotek met with members of the media to discuss the latest from her Portland Central City Task Force, the biggest update being an agreement with railroad company Union Pacific to be more proactive in clearing trash and graffiti on its Portland property. Meanwhile, Mayor Ted Wheeler and Portland's new chief of police, Bob Day, held a press conference to talk about how nice downtown's going to be for the holidays — and oh yeah, the city plans to start enforcing its daytime ban on homeless camps in two weeks.
