Description
A KGW viewer recently asked if drug dealers can be prosecuted for murder, referencing an incident in which eight people in Portland all died from drug overdoses in rapid succession in May of this year, with several of the deaths linked to fentanyl.
KGW's Verify team looked into the question. We found that dealers do sometimes face federal charges for fatal buyer overdoses, and some states have passed laws creating similar local charges, but Oregon isn't one of them.
