Description
Oct. 10 on The Story: Oregon would have some of the strictest gun laws in the nation right now, if it weren't for the multiple lawsuits that have kept the voter-approved Measure 114 held up in court. But the measure's court troubles aren't the topic of the day. Instead, Measure 114 has a different problem, assuming it goes into effect. The law requires that prospective gun buyers take a firearms training course, apply for a permit and submit to a criminal background check, with the FBI conducting the check. But the word on the street is that the FBI won't do the checks that the law requires. Tonight, we'll explore their reasoning, and why it's not simply obstinance from the federal agency.
