Description
Oct. 3 on The Story: The threats of worsening climate change and persistent drought have had major impacts on Oregon's water supply, particularly for wildlife and the state's prized agricultural industries. Something that isn't helping matters is the infrastructure of Oregon's irrigation systems, many of which date back a century, perhaps two. That's prompted growing efforts to modernize irrigation districts, but it doesn't come cheap. Regardless, advocates say that if we want to stop wasting water, we can't afford to avoid making upgrades. In many cases, it's more than a pipe dream — it's quite literally a pipe.
