Sept. 22 on The Story: On Friday, for the first time since at least 2020, commissioners from both Multnomah County and the city of Portland came together for a joint meeting to discuss an overall strategy for addressing homelessness. The meeting coincided with the release of another critical review of the county-helmed Joint Office of Homeless Services, this time conducted by a third-party consulting group. According to both city and county officials, they're working together to untangle the knot at JOHS and chart a new path going forward, one that addresses the major shortfalls identified by reviewers.
