Description
When it comes to the changing seasons, few places compare to the rich fall colors to be found at Portland Japanese Garden. The leaves typically begin to change in October, but the garden is relaunching its online Fall Color Tracker to help visitors plan their visit around the peak.
The reds and golds of the maples give a distinctly different feel after the lush, green look of summer. Communications Specialist Will Lerner said beyond the fullness of Portland Japanese Garden’s beauty is the richness of its history in the exhibitions and programming.
“The programming has been designed to be presented in a way that requires no translation or previous knowledge of Japan. But the idea that people can come here, get a glimpse of Japanese culture, and be motivated to learn more,” he said.
