Description
Members of the War Department devised the "Loyal Legion of Loggers and Lumbermen" to ostracize labor agitators and ramp up timber production during World War I. The so-called company union eventually did have some trappings of a labor organization, but it also ensured that other unions were excluded from the timber industry.
