Description
Aug. 21 on The Story: In a recent special report, international news outfit Reuters examined the rise of politically-motivated violence in the U.S. since the January 6, 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol. One of the cases that the outlet featured prominently was the shooting at Portland's Normandale Park in February 2022, in which a man with an increasing history of engagement with right-wing grievances shot five Black Lives Matter demonstrators, killing one woman. Tonight we speak with one of the Reuters reporters about their analysis and take a look at its close connections to Portland's recent history of political violence.
