Description
Aug. 18 on The Story: This week, a group of young plaintiffs won their climate case in a Montana state court, with a judge agreeing that the state's policies have contributed to climate change and caused "harm and injury" to the youths. It's similar to a federal case out of Oregon, one that's been on the ropes for years, and it's likely to be influential going forward — even if the plaintiffs face a challenging appeal. With that in mind, our environmental reporter Kale Williams reached out to the attorneys on either side of the case, as well as a local expert, to get a better idea of what this ruling means for the future.
