Description
We look back to archive footage from the day that Mount St. Helens in southwest Washington erupted — May 18, 1980. Reporter Boyd Levet stood on a hill with the towering plume visible over his shoulder. For him, it started as an earthquake. Then came "the bulge." Then the mountain blew.
