May 18, 2023 on The Story: After buying a Mercedes supercar, James Sands rented it out through "Airbnb for cars," an app called Turo. His first renter was a safe bet, he thought. But when the renter's 21-year-old son got ahold of it, Sands' dream car became the latest high-profile example of Portland's street racing culture — dashed and crashed in a parking lot near the Portland International Airport.
