April 26, 2023 on The Story: We've checked in a few times recently about the overall price tag for a new I-5 crossing over the Columbia River and how Oregon and Washington intend to pay for it. But within those discussions, which are still ongoing, we're also starting to learn more about what this thing will actually look like, how it'll be built and what each piece actually costs. For instance, we know now that this will be a twin-span design, just like the current bridge — but they're probably only building one at a time, which will mean that commuters will be crossing a single bridge until the second one is built.
