Description
Aya Morton is a printmaker.
"Building each layer, in pieces because the original drawing is so big."
Paola De La Cruz works in cut paper. "These are 20 by 40. The final will be 60 by 120 inches."
Both artists are working on big murals that everyone in downtown Hillsboro can view. Cultural Art District Manager, Bridie Harrington says they’ll help.
"These murals are going to be such a powerful welcome to our downtown. A new chapter being very specific about how we can support our economy."
An old abandoned bank building is being refurbished with businesses and an outdoor art gallery where Aya’s mural will hang.
"It's really fantastic that the city has made this investment."
