Tualatin High School junior Emiliano Mateos is a student filmmaker editing in his afternoon film class.
"Today I would like to discuss, Autism Awareness Month..."
He’s made a film about Autism to show the whole school.
"And ways that you can celebrate and raise awareness of autism for the month of April."
Currently 1 in every 36 children are thought to have a form of autism. Emiliano is one of them and his film encourages folks to be aware of what an autistic student needs.
"Telling people what you need. What you require and what you want."
He wants to fit in.
"Please don't see me as differently. See me as an equal. And if you already do so then good for you."
