Recently, a video that someone took of a boater trying to run down sea lions on the Columbia River provoked a lot of outrage. But Oregon's relationship with these creatures has been complicated. While sea lions are generally protected under federal law, their voracious appetite for salmon has resulted in the killing of nearly 400 of the animals in Oregon.
