Description
March 30, 2023 on The Story: Grant County is a big and sparsely-populated area. Sheriff Todd McKinley's agency is a small one, and it can take a long time for deputies to respond to reports of a crime. For him, some of the laws approved by Oregon's urban voters have only made the job more difficult, and he agrees with many of the complaints that other eastern Oregonians have about feeling politically overpowered and overlooked. But he's still on the fence about the "Greater Idaho" movement, which he thinks could come with its own set of problems.
