Description
March 16, 2023 on The Story: Depending on where you live, each county has standards for when paramedics should arrive after a 911 call. Those can range from within 8 minutes in highly-populated areas like Portland to 30 minutes in more rural areas. But no matter where you are, ambulance providers are increasingly failing to meet those deadlines — and it doesn't seem to matter much which company is contracted to do it. Counties say that staffing shortages are mostly to blame, based on what providers have told them. KGW investigate reporter Evan Watson dives into the issue tonight on The Story.
