March 16, 2023 on The Story: Depending on where you live, each county has standards for when paramedics should arrive after a 911 call. Those can range from within 8 minutes in highly-populated areas like Portland to 30 minutes in more rural areas. But no matter where you are, ambulance providers are increasingly failing to meet those deadlines — and it doesn't seem to matter much which company is contracted to do it.
