Description
Feb. 21, 2023 on The Story: In the little town of Nyssa along the Idaho border, the state of Oregon has backed the construction of a new rail station in order to help onion farmers get their product to market. But the $26 million project has been mired in years of delays, ballooning into a $40 million project, and it's still not finished. For the Malheur Enterprise, an eastern Oregon newspaper, the story has been a nonstop saga of cost overruns, conflicts of interest and state lawmakers who keep coming back with hat in hand.
