Description
Jan. 16, 2022 on The Story: Many low-income Oregonians rely on food and cash assistance to get by, which the state loads onto Oregon Trail Cards. But several people say that they've been hit by fraudsters who managed to skim their cards, then simply snag the benefits each month. The state seems unwilling to add security measures to EBT cards that most debit and credit cards have these days, and unable to replace stolen benefits. KGW investigative reporter Kyle Iboshi digs into the story.
