Jan. 11, 2022 on The Story: As promised, Gov. Tina Kotek used her first full day in office Tuesday to declare a state of emergency for homelessness in Oregon. The emergency declaration was just one of three executive orders she signed, and the other two were on similar themes — speeding up the pace of housing construction and directing state agencies to prioritize the reduction of homelessness statewide.
