Description
Thirty jazz musicians from five decades of Battleground and Prairie High Schools came together to honor their music director, Al Aldridge.
Vanessa Sielert played sax and basketball for Al. "The band sounds pretty good. I'm really pretty impressed. It's been, you know... 34 years for me."
Eric Sawyer played drums in Al’s jazz band. It changed his life. "I wasn't the only one who felt so passionately about what he had done and how he changed my life.”
Michael Vance played for Al and went on to play sax for the U.S. Army Band. "Al saw something in me that I did not see in myself."
Al taught his students to find their own drive. "They took those experiences out into the real world and said we're going to outwork those people in our workplace too."
Congratulations, Al!
