Dec. 15, 2022 on The Story: For months, KGW reporter Blair Best has been covering a series of homeless camps along NE 33rd Drive in Portland. That's where she met Tara Pietromonaco, a woman who has been living in camps like these for three years, sleeping in her broken-down car or a decrepit trailer. But just recently, after talking to Pietromonaco for a story, Best helped connect her with a nonprofit called JOIN. The organization helps people get off the streets and into housing. And that's exactly what they did for Pietromonaco. Since we don't always hear about the success stories, here's one we're thrilled to share.
