Dec. 6, 2022 on The Story: As we covered last month, ODOT is cooking up a whole mess of tolls for I-5 and I-205 over the next two or three years. In addition to raising money for local roadway projects, one of the stated goals for the tolling is to discourage commuters from driving during peak hours — perhaps pushing them to take public transit. That would be TriMet's cross to bear, and right now stakeholders don't seem confident that the system can handle the extra weight. Also, who's going to pay for it?
