Nov. 23, 2022 on The Story: Measure 114, the ballot measure that would ban the sale of high-capacity gun magazines and require gun buyers to obtain a permit, already faces a major legal challenge. Right now the measure is set to become law effective Dec. 8, but a lot can happen between now and then. We spoke to a constitutional law professor at Willamette University for some insight on how Second Amendment cases like these are being decided in the current legal climate, and he put forth a theory of how the measure could be delayed — even partially tossed out — without going away completely.
