Description
On Nov. 9, 2022, Portland police officers conducted a mission to find shoplifters at Portland's Mall 205. One suspect in a stolen car drove away from officers. They radioed ahead for another officer to throw spike strips to stop her. The driver was a 24-year-old woman who know faces felony charges. Officers found goods stolen from Target and fentanyl inside the truck.
Shoplifting is on the rise in Portland and becoming more brazen. Police, prosecutors, retailers, private security and neighbors complain shoplifting is a citywide epidemic— largely fueled by drug addiction.
