Nov. 17, 2022 on The Story: Oregon voters narrowly approved Measure 114 this election, ushering in permit requirements for new gun purchases and banning sales of high-capacity magazines. But even the drafters of Measure 114 didn't understand how quickly it would be going into effect (just three weeks from now), and the law comes with some logistical challenges that law enforcement agencies would need to overcome immediately in order to be in compliance by Dec. 8.
