Oct. 10 is Indigenous Peoples Day, which honors Native Americans and their contributions to society. Supports say the day also focuses attention on the ways Indigenous people are discriminated against.
A documentary examines inequities among Indigenous people within the foster care system. It's called 'Hope within a broken system: Challenging the future for children of color in foster care.'
Brenda Braxton spoke with Amber Desjarlais, an Indigenous social worker who is featured in the film.
