Description
Hundreds of people attended the Hands Across The Bridge event Monday morning. The event is meant to show support for people dealing with addiction and mental health.
Once people walked across the Interstate Bridge, they joined hands and said serenity prayer, which represents the peace of mind that comes with recovery.
Terry Leckron-Meyers is one of the original organizers of the event, she once struggled with addiction issues.
“Being on the streets,” Meyers said, “being an IV user, all of those things ... I needed people to know there are people that look like me that also need help.”
