Description
Aug. 22, 2022 on The Story: On Monday morning, Portland police arrested a 22-year-old man accused of being a "prolific" tagger — alone accounting for nearly $20,000 in clean-up costs, according to the district attorney's office. Many Portlanders have expressed that they feel nothing is being done about the graffiti in their neighborhoods. There are actually programs dedicating thousands, even millions of dollars toward cleaning this stuff up, but the people in charge say that the scale of the problem is just huge — especially when a crew can clean one spot, only to have the taggers come right back. So does Monday's arrest mark a new tactic in trying to turn things around?
