Description
Beaverton Mayor Lacey Beaty just cut the ribbon on a new, old way to make that transit trip time go faster.
"Check it out. We got a grab and go book corner here at the Beaverton Transit Station," Beaty said.
Before you get on a bus in Beaverton, you'll now have the chance to take a book with you — ensuring that you'll have something to occupy your mind on the trip.
Gregory Mowry is about to get on the bus, and he's a believer.
"If you have a long way to go you can just read the book, and you're there," Mowry said.
All the books are free. Take one and keep it, or give it away. Billy Moore grabbed a book for the ride.
“You're just sitting there looking at everything go by, so it would be good to have a book," said Moore.
Just 'grab and go' thanks to the Beaverton City Library and TriMet.
