Description
On his visit to the "Ancrages" forum in Marseille, the French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot spoke on Franco-Algerian relations saying that "at some point, the dialogue will have to be resumed" between the two countries. Already strained, relations between Algeria and France escalated at the beginning of the week, with Algiers expelling 12 French agents and Paris responding by sending back 12 Algerian consular agents and recalling the French ambassador in Algiers for consultations.
