Description
The Mauritshuis Museum in The Hague, famous for its Rembrandt paintings, has revealed the results of a study into three paintings believed to have been by the Dutch master. The study found that two of the works were not by Rembrandt, but that a question mark still hangs over a third painting, which could have either been done by a student or by the great master himself. "You might ask, is that a disappointment?" says Martine Gosselink, the museum's director. "Of course, we would rather prefer them to be real Rembrandts. But the works themselves are as beautiful as they were before this judgement." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
