Description
Afrobeat legend, Femi Kuti talks about his upcoming 13th album, "Journey Through Life," set for release on 25 April, at his family's legendary music venue in Lagos-New Afrika Shrine. The upcoming record he says is about "the kind of advices I give myself to where I am today." His father Fela defined Afrobeat and became a poster boy for protest against government abuses, and in a career that has spanned four decades, the younger Kuti has become an heir to that legacy of activism and musical style, albeit tempered with reality. "Maybe it's not possible to change the world. But one thing I'm sure of is that I can change myself. I can make myself a better person," he says. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
