The Trump administration's efforts to shrink the federal government and cut government spending is impacting public health. The administration is expected to cut thousands of full-time jobs across the Department of Health and Human Services. Some of the agencies impacted include the CDC, FDA and NIH. These cuts come as the administration also cuts funding for dozens of HIV-related research grants. Cuts are on top of previous slashes to funding used to help manage HIV beyond the United States — and other funding reductions are looming.
