Description
A new measure introduced by two Colorado legislators would increase the potential penalty for someone who kills a bicyclist or pedestrian while driving carelessly.
The bill would re-classify careless driving - causing death, now a misdemeanor, as a felony – a move that could mean a significantly longer sentence.
It’s sponsored by state Sen. John Carson, a Republican who represents Douglas County, and state Sen. Marc Snyder, a Democrat who represents El Paso and Teller counties.
