Cynthia Erivo will be the keynote speaker of this year's Conference on World Affairs. The University of Colorado Boulder said the Emmy, Grammy and Tony-award winner and three-time Academy Award nominee will headline the 77th annual conference, opening the week of Monday, April 7. Erivo will participate in a discussion moderated by Stefanie K. Johnson, the director of CU Boulder’s Center for Leadership. The discussion will span Erivo’s life journey and her experience of being a woman in the arts industry, CU Boulder said. The Conference of World Affairs will be held April 7 to April 11. Registration for Erivo’s appearance opens the week of March 17. Erivo burst onto London’s West End and Broadway stages in "The Color Purple" and has since starred in the movies "Harriet" and "Wicked," each for which she was nominated for Academy Awards. An annual tradition at CU Boulder, the Conference on World Affairs features 53 thought and experts across eight categories, including arts, business, human condition, international affairs, politics and media, and science and technology who will engage in discussions on today’s top issues.
