Denver prosecutors on Wednesday formally charged Broncos linebackers coach Michael Wilhoite with second-degree assault on a police officer in the wake of an incident Sunday, 9NEWS Investigates has learned. Wilhoite, 38, also faces two other charges – obstruction of a peace officer and criminal mischief – in the incident in which he was accused of punching a police officer in the face.
