The conviction Thursday of a former deputy who shot and killed Christian Glass in 2022 is far from the final chapter of the story. Four other officers who were on scene that night face charges for not intervening to stop the shooting. Georgetown Police Marshal Randy Williams, former Clear Creek County Deputy Tim Collins, Idaho Springs Police Officer Brittany Morrow and Colorado State Patrol Trooper Ryan Bennie all are set to go to trial in May and June for their cases. Two other officers on scene that night, Colorado Division of Gaming Officers Mary Harris and Christa Lloyd saw their charges dropped last year on something of a technicality. A judge ruled that they don’t qualify as peace officers and therefore the state’s new failure to intervene statute doesn’t apply to them. 9NEWS Legal Analyst Scott Robinson said judges won’t likely allow evidence of former deputy Andrew Buen’s conviction into those cases as a matter of fairness. But he said Buen’s conviction could allow for plea agreements.
