An accident during a club sports track and field meet in Colorado Springs resulted in the death of an audience member after he was struck by a weight used in the weight throw event. According to a release from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, where the meet took place, a man in attendance was killed when a weight thrown by a participant cleared certified barriers and struck him.
