Soldiers from Fort Carson will take part in President Trump's order to secure the southern border. US Northern Command said troops from two units have been activated. The 569th combat engineer company-armed unit and 759th military police battalion are among those deployed. Officials say they're part of around 1,500 personnel from around the nation on their way to the border. That's on top of the more than 2,000 service members already there. Officials say they will help support detection and monitoring efforts and will help build and repair physical barriers.
