The former police chief of the Lakeside Police Department has pleaded guilty to charges for crimes prosecutors say he committed between July 2019 and November 2023 while he served as mayor, police chief and the fire chief of Lakeside. Robert Gordanier pleaded guilty to embezzlement of public property and first-degree official misconduct. The other counts were dismissed as a result of a plea deal. His daughter and co-defendant, Brenda Hamilton, faces 10 counts and has pleaded not guilty.
