Officers took a suspect into custody after one person was injured in a shooting at a tire store Thursday afternoon, the Arvada Police Department said. Police said the shooting happened just before 3 p.m. at the Big O Tires at 7425 W. 52nd Ave., which is near the intersection of 52nd Avenue and Vance Street. The shooting occurred in a service bay at the tire shop after two employees got into a physical confrontation according to a spokesperson for Arvada Police. They said shooter fled the scene on foot and was then picked up by the driver of a vehicle just north of where the shooting took place. Just after 5 p.m., Arvada Police said on social media that the suspect was in custody. Officers found him at a home near Kipling Street and West 72nd Avenue in Arvada. The victim was taken to the hospital and was in surgery, police said. He was shot more than once, a police spokesperson said. Police said residents in the area may see an ongoing police presence in the area as they continue to investigate the shooting.
